Another day at the yard...
Well, this tail from hell finally fits...:-) At least this is
acceptable for me.

Then I roughed out the top tails of this log.

Here's a close-up of the rough-out.

This is the best part for me...time for a little bit of solitude...

Pines came today...
The pines came today...took longer than I thought to unload...
Here's the start of the pile:

And this is how it ended up...that is one big pine on the top...about 40" at the butt end.

And a little timber bowling while unloading...

Happy Trails my friend...until we meet again...
Today I sold my GP30K, it went to live in a nursery...
A great lift that allowed me to get started in log building, just couldn't really handle this type of work.

Pines are coming to the yard soon...
Here's the pines that are coming to the yard soon...
The other end of the stack...
The other side of the stack...the large ones are about 36" with the smaller ones being about 15"-24".
Some are only about 6", will use for ornamental limbs or in worst case buck for firewood.
Load me up!

Back of yard after excavated...(thanks Gary!)
Here is the back of the yard after getting excavated last week. I didn't have a camera.

And Here's the free eucalyptus I got last week. Most are 12"-16", and about 12 -20 feet long. I think I can use them for ornamental accent logs in the house, if nothing else.

Then a friend showed up for lunch with some fresh tomatoes out of his garden and some fresh basil from his garden and some fresh mozzarella (ok, that came from the store;-)
Now the kicker is that Bob helped me fix a leak on the forklift, which turned out to be a loose not on a solenoid that is attached to the hydraulic valve, that was a great help.

Then I was able to take my work truck to get smog'd which passed, and put a window in the drivers door I got at a salvage yard in Santa Clara.

Got some free Eucalyptus logs
A neighbor by my yard does concrete work and is building a foundation up in Portola Valley. He dropped these off at my yard.

A friend excavated the back area for me to store logs...
A neighbor contractor by the yard is getting me some pines and eucalytus trees, I posted some pics of the house that is being demoed a while back. He brought his track loader over and cleaned up area for me to store them, and WOW, what a job he did. He really exceeded my expectations in every way, he maneuvered his track loader like a ballerina and made short work of it, he was only working for about an hour and a half.
I moved the doug firs out of the way while he was working, so he could clean the area up where they were also. I have plenty of room for doug firs, pines, eucalytus and more if I can find them! lol
NOTE: I didn't have my camera, so used my phone...:-( better pics to come...
